Hobo from Hoboken, New Jersey

What's the deal with the kids calling each other HOBO all of a sudden?  Did they just learn about hobos, drifters,  or vagabonds in one of their social studies units?  One of them even asked me if I am a hobo!  

Of course I was a former hobo- a proud gypsy in my past career.  I even lived in my car for one weekend.  When I was growing up, we moved all the time.  We stayed in one city maximum 2 years.  The longest was 5 years at UC Santa Cruz for me.  Then of course the show  business life with its ups and downs and my jobs as freelance sound tech and designing for the theater.  Ahhh, life in the theater, I could write a book about my 13 years in the theater business.  May be another day.
