I've been a fan of this revolutionary "Total Football" concept since 1974, the first time that the Netherlands made it to the World Cup finals. I was a nine year old boy at the time trying to emulate Johann Cruyff, the captain of the Dutch team. I didn't even have socks or shoes to play soccer with, we were playing in the dirt barefooted, using a couple of rocks for the goals. Holland finally made it to the finals again this year by beating Uruguay, the last remaining South American team in the semifinals. Dutch fans and I've been waiting for 36 long years. Their time has come to finally win a first World Cup Championship.
