* Competition. Capitalism. Cheating to get to the top. That's the American way. So what's with all the hoopla about the CRCT cheating scandal? Allegations are not the truth or facts, so stop treating them as such, in the first place. I choose to not believe in everything I hear. Secondly, QUIT YOUR BITCHIN'! You wanted higher test scores, now you got them. Let's start celebrating and patting ourselves on the back. All this whining and complaining about things you have no control over or none of your dang business is a big waste of time.

If only we spend this much energy and money on actually teaching our children something useful and practical. Reading, writing and listening skills. Will these test scores matter 5, 10 years from now? Doubt it. As usual, it's not the kids but the adults in charge who are clueless.

* Loving this Winter in Georgia. Snow, ice, cold extreme weather. That's more like it. This has been the best winter we've had in Georgia over the last 16 years. We were in Vermont where they had record snow: 33 inches in 3 days, then when we came back to Georgia it snowed in January and snowed again big time last week. Georgians didn't know what they were missing. My new favorite temperature: 40 degrees.
